Authorised Dealer or Independent Dealer: Where Should You Buy a Rolex in London?
It depends on what you want. An authorised dealer (AD) sells brand-new Rolex watches at list price, but popular models often come with long waiting lists. An independent dealer such as Diamond Brothers in Mayfair sells authenticated pre-owned and unworn watches that you can buy straight away, including discontinued and hard-to-find references.

When an authorised dealer makes sense
If you want a brand-new watch at list price, don’t mind waiting, and want the manufacturer’s warranty, an AD is the natural choice.
When an independent dealer makes sense
If you want a specific model now, a discontinued reference, a particular year or dial, or a watch with box and papers from a trusted source, an independent dealer gives you far more choice. You can also trade in a watch you already own.

What “grey market” means
“Grey market” simply means a genuine watch sold outside the brand’s official dealer network. It isn’t the same as fake. What matters is who you buy from: choose a dealer with a showroom, proper authentication, a written warranty and strong independent reviews.

Is buying from an independent dealer legal? Yes. Reselling genuine watches is completely legal.
Will a pre-owned Rolex still be covered by Rolex? Rolex’s international guarantee runs from the original sale date on the warranty card. Our 12-month mechanical warranty covers every watch we sell.
