1ct Diamond Stud Earrings
Classic diamond studs with a total weight of around one carat, in natural and lab-grown diamonds, set in white, yellow and rose gold or platinum.
Choosing 1ct Diamond Studs
What does 1ct mean for a pair?
The carat weight shown is the total for the pair, so 1ct studs are two diamonds of roughly half a carat each. It is the most popular size for everyday studs: noticeable without being heavy, and easy to wear from the office to the evening.
Natural or lab-grown?
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds with the same chemical and optical properties as natural stones, grown in a controlled environment rather than mined. They cost noticeably less for the same size and quality. Natural diamonds are the traditional choice and hold their rarity. Use the Diamond type filter to compare both side by side.
Colour and clarity
Each piece lists its diamond quality, for example F/VS or G/SI2. The letter is the colour (D is the whitest; F and G look bright white when worn) and the second part is clarity (VS stones are eye-clean; SI and I grades have small inclusions that are harder to see at stud size). For studs, colour usually matters more than clarity because the stones face the light.
Setting and metal
Four-claw settings show the most diamond; halo and cluster studs make a smaller stone look larger. White gold and platinum suit bright white diamonds, while yellow and rose gold give a warmer look. Platinum is the most hard-wearing; 18ct gold is richer in colour than 9ct.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 1ct the weight of each earring or the pair?
It is the total diamond weight of the pair, so each earring holds about 0.50ct. If you would like 1ct in each ear, let us know, we may have stock available ready for next day delivery.
Are lab-grown diamond studs real diamonds?
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are physically and chemically the same as natural diamonds. The difference is their origin and price, not their look or hardness.
How long do made-to-order studs take?
Pieces marked In stock are ready to go. Made-to-order pieces usually take around 2 to 3 weeks.
